Catching Up With Old Friends

Catching up with old friends can be so rejuvenating.   I always love it when I get in touch with an old friend for the first time in years and we are able to reconnect and talk for hours as if time hadn't past at all.  Even though time had passed (lots of time..) and events had occurred  (major events...), it's proof again that true friendship always lasts, no matter what life may bring.  You never forget your friends.  (evidently I have a hard time remembering events though,lol)

Erik and I have had our new laptop for awhile now, and I find myself still soooo amazed by the built-in camera. When I'm bored or need a good laugh I sit down and play with the "Photo Booth" application. It can keep me busy for hours...really. Hey, what can I say, I'm easily amused! This photo of my lovely eye was taken using the comic book effect.

When life seems hectic and you feel as though you are being swallowed up by all the stresses of the world, try to remember to take time to enjoy the little things that make you happy. It's hard to do when your mind is racing in a million directions, and you can't seem to find a moment of peace...but try, even if it means staying up past midnight on a Sunday night when you are exhausted. :)

Spring has sprung!!

Happy Friday! Today was such a beautiful day! When I got home from work I decided to do a bit of spring cleaning in our backyard. The sun was shining and the birds were singing...it was so peaceful.

While clearing out dead leaves and branches I discovered so many plants coming to life in our yard! The people who owned the house before us loved to garden, so I know there will be lots plants coming back to life over the next few weeks...which also means I will be spending lots of time cleaning up the flower beds. I can't wait to post more pictures once things start to bloom. Taking pictures of flowers is probably my favorite thing to do when I have spare time. I'm not quite sure what type of plants are in the photos I took today-- I guess I'll have to wait for them to grow some more to find out! If anyone out there has a green thumb and can help me identify plants I would be very grateful!!
